Oh-mazing overnight oats

Thursday, 9 March 2017

Do you sometimes wake up craving dessert but it’s barely 7.30am?

That's totally fine.

You can even hit the snooze button because these babies are preparing themselves whilst you catch up on some more beauty sleep *not that you need it of course*

Y'know cos being an adult is hard enough without having to think about making a healthy breakfast first thing in the morning.

So let me introduce you to the most stress-free breakfast experience of your life… the overnight oats.

I have finally mastered the perfect recipe to eat as it is or add experiment with your own flavour combos.

These are so good even your boyfriend may be tempted to wake up in middle of night to dip his spoon in *shh, not like that*

Ingredients:
35g rolled oats
100ml-150ml of almond milk (depending on how *stodgy* you want it)
1 tsp of chai seeds
1 tbsp of honey
1 tsp vanilla essence
A pinch of salt

Method:
Simply mix all ingredients together, store in a sealed container and let it relax in the fridge overnight.

The next day, the oats soften and absorb all of the flavours then you’re left with a pudding-like porridge that will just need heating up for 2 minutes in the microwave.

At this stage I usually add 1 tbsp of peanut butter and half a chopped up banana, a few choc chips and voila, breakfast is served.

So let me just recap… easy, fast, healthy, delicious, dessert-like breakfast. Say goodbye to your cornflakes forever.

Have you tried overnight oats and what flavour combos are your faves?

Love Luce x
