pixi beauty review

pixi beauty review
After hearing so much about Pixi beauty skin treats via bloggers and close friends, and after being on the hunt for a face oil I knew I had to add the rose oil blend to my Christmas list.

So come Christmas morning I was overwhelmed when I unwrapped the collection packed with the top skincare products. My mam had of course purchased this for me (along with everything else on my list, the lil cutie)

I have been using these products for around 2 months now, so here are the highs and the lows, the loves and the *not so* loves for the Pixi brand.

Makeup Melting Cleansing Cloths

I really wanted to love these! The packet feels luxurious and the term ‘cloths’ tricked me into thinking I would open the seal to some kind of wonderful thick soft cloth to melt away my makeup. Sadly, this wasn’t the case.

The scent however is beautiful. I have these in my gym bag and I can still smell the rose fragrance throughout my work out! But not only does the smell linger on my face but most of my makeup does too. They’re not as ‘wet’ as I would have liked and slightly rough.

I also found myself pulling at my skin very quickly as the wipe had dried up. They were a nice addition to the set I received for Christmas but at £10 a pop for 40 ‘cloths’, I won’t be buying them again.

Glow Mud Cleanser

The thought of ‘cleaning’ your face with mud may seem a strange concept but this mud cleanser seems to tick all the boxes. I have been using this product on a night time for a deep pore cleanse. Applying a coin sized amount to damp skin, massaging gently, rinsing and patting dry.

It includes 5% glycolic acid, which is said to reveal healthy new cells and brighten your complexion without scrubbing. It definitely lifts skin impurities and leaves you feeling clean but not that excessive tight feeling, which is sometimes a little uncomfortable. It’s packed with a cocktail of hydrating oils such as avocado, hazelnut and sesame seed (yum) whilst the chamomile extract soothes and refreshes the skin. It has a thick texture, so a little goes a long way! It’s like an intense treatment and a nourishing cleanser in one.

The first few times that I used this cleanser I did break out a little bit, but this is bound to happen when you’re smothering anything new on your face. So I stuck with it and I am so glad I did as its now a firm member of my skincare routine! Price wise it’s not too bad either compared to other similar products and I will be repurchasing when I run out. For best results, follow with Glow Tonic.

Glow Tonic

Now this one I couldn’t wait to try. I’d already read so many raving reviews and just HAD to see this miracle product in action for myself. I’ve been applying a few drops of the tonic to a cotton pad and sweeping across my face and neck area morning and night before my moisturiser. I’m always surprised with the residue that is still left on the pad no matter how much you think you’ve cleansed beforehand.

It feels instantly refreshing on the skin and despite the many reviews criticising the scent I actually find the mild ginseng aroma a delight. After using this tonic for a few months now I’ve noticed that my complexion is brighter and much more hydrated. Instantly after applying the tonic my skin feels much firmer to the touch and overtime has become more balanced rather than combination, leaving me with a naturally fresh and dewy glow.

I will be repurchasing the glow tonic when I run out as it’s a product that’s worth investing in. If you’re looking for something which will give you an instant sensation of freshness and hydration that's gentle on the skin, then give the PIXI Glow Tonic a go.

Rose Oil Blend

Now onto the star of the show. This beautiful rose oil blend is an absolute winner and a strong addition to my beauty regime. I’ve been looking for a good face oil to add to my makeup bag since falling in love with the one I purchased in Australia, but had to leave in Bali airport because it was in my hand luggage and over the limit *sob*.

So anyways, this amazing replacement is infused with youth-preserving oils (yes please) which helps improve the elasticity of the skin to produce that sought after glow. Sweet almond, rosehip, jojoba, pomegranate seed and rose geranium oils make it almost good enough to eat (please don’t). I add a small amount to my moisturiser and my makeup just glides on. You could even add it directly to your foundation for a dewy glow.

Last week I even experimented by adding a few drops to my facemask when it was nearing the end of its life, and wow I’ll be doing this more often. If you have any dry patches just apply directly to the area and voila, soft, clear, refined, smooth and balanced skin. I’m pretty addicted to this oil and recommend it to everyone whenever I can. It’s gotta be up there in my top 10 fave beauty products ever. The bottle is a decent size and will not be running out anytime soon as I use a tiny amount, but when it does I’ll be sure to replace.

Have you tried any PIXI products and which are your favourite?
