An open love letter to coffee

Dear coffee,
How have you bean?
It’s a good morning when I wake up with you. Your rich roasted taste and full-bodied scent is enough to perk anyone up.
But I don't drink you to wake up; I wake up to drink you.
You’re the best at bringing people together. You’re invited to hear the gossip between friends.
You’re summoned to the most important business meetings and you've been the conversation starter for those 'I can't ask for a date just yet, so I'll ask if they want to grab a coffee' moments between future lovers. And even if it doesn't transpire, they'll still fall in love with you.
You've helped my Granddad complete every meal for as long as I can remember.
You're tasty with all kinds of syrups; gingerbread, vanilla and almond to name a few.
You're perfectly paired with Baileys and the Italians even drizzle you over ice cream.
No matter what people say about you I know you’re good for me. You have many health benefits as you're high in antioxidants.
You’re so well loved that even the greatest composers wrote songs about you.
Because you're so pretty, you've come so far with social media. People hashtag you thousands of times every day! Your heart shaped foamed latte art shines so bright through the Clarendon filter and you're a must have accessory for bloggers all around the world.
You're always there to help when I'm stressed or tired. You offer me freedom with a break throughout the day; calming me down, warming my insides and making sure I'm on top form for the remainder of the day.
You're extremely addictive and writing this has made me want you now. But it won’t be long until I see you again and I’ll be sure to invite our mutual friend… cake.
All my love, Luce x

  3. What a beautifully, witty love letter.
I too am in love with coffee. I enjoy exploring those beans and their origin. Trying fancy new styles and avoiding those highstreet coffee outlets (sorry, not sorry)

    1. Thank you Tamsyn!
After I went to Bali to visit a coffee plantation, I've never looked at coffee the same way. I respect the process and the people that put their heart and soul into harvesting the delicious bean... suppose you could say i'm OCD (Obsessive Coffee Disorder)
