2017: The year of YOU

2016 was so last year. And now that we’ve well and truly said goodbye to the #worstyearever we can finally relax and start to enjoy 2017.

New Year’s resolutions usually tend to last a few weeks or so for most of us, because you know there’s only so many times you can politely say no to the left over Christmas chocolates. But when they’re gone they’re gone, right? ... Maybe.

New Year new me went flying right out the window when my friend text to see how my dry January was going on the first Friday of the year - but I had got far too excited over M&S wine of the month and was already three glasses deep. Oops. In all fairness, it was a hectic first week back at work and I totally wasn’t ready for it so I did deserve it.

Everyone seems to have a lil spring in their step in the first few weeks of the year. Maybe everyone is super chilled from burning their new candles, pampering themselves with all their new beauty products or finally purchasing that skirt they’ve been lusting over since autumn because it was 60% off in the Jan sale.

One thing I am going to try and do more of this year is get into more of a routine, and make more time for me. First on my list will be actually going to the gym straight after work instead of taking my gym stuff on a Monday, and it living under my desk at work all week.

When I was naming this blog I did consider ‘Lazy Lucy’ because I really am! Routines are so important for us as it makes us more efficient and instills good habits.

So if you’ve already given up or never really taken to the idea of resolutions, try starting small and do one or two things a day that will benefit you long term.
